Dr. Martin Burg

Martin F. Burg, MS, DVM opened Monroe Animal Hospital in May 1992. He has an undergraduate degree in Biology from Cornell University and a Masters of Science degree from University of New Hampshire in Reproductive Physiology. He earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Tennessee in 1988. He enjoys many outdoor activities and when not at work he can be found puttering around his yard.

Cindy Lakatos

Cindy Lakatos has loved animals, especially cats, for her whole life. This passion pushed her towards animal medicine and she went on to receive her degree in biology from Fairfield University in 1998. She joined Monroe Animal Hospital in March of 2003, and has worked as a technician for the practice ever since. Cindy lives in Stratford with her husband John and multiple rescued cats. She loves horses and enjoys riding as often as she can. Cindy is also an avid reader and film enthusiast.

Michelle Dayton

Michelle Dayton has been a veterinary technician at Monroe Animal Hospital since the doors opened in May 1992. She currently lives in Monroe with her husband Ronnie, daughters Hannah and Ava and her dogs and cats. She is an avid fitness enthusiast and is a certified Cardio Kickboxing instructor.

Kathleen Burg

Kathleen Burg has been involved in the practice from its inception in various roles. Currently she can be seen at the front desk helping to keep the ship running. She enjoys travel and gardening.

Jenny Kerce

Jenny Kerce lives in Monroe with her son Dan and her four cats; Twinkie, Marley, Maggie and Sebastian. Also mom to Amy and grandmother to Aiden. Jenny has been with us since 2010 and loves to garden, make jewelry and is a flea market vendor.

Liz Luzietti

Liz Luzietti joined our team in November of 2018 and has been a client at the clinic since 2008. She lives in Newtown with her husband Jim and three children Samantha, Devin and Shaine and 3 dogs and a cat. She has been an animal lover her whole life and is and avid animal rescuer and wildlife rehabilitator. Liz is also involved in Newtown Strong Therapy Dogs.

Sara Lombard

Sara has worked in the veterinary field since 2017. She began as a kennel attendant at a boarding facility that quickly sparked her love for the veterinary field. She has since worked her way up from kennel attendant to assistant and now veterinary technician. Sara approaches pets in a calm and comforting manner, she realizes how scary it can be to come into the office and tries to make their experience as pleasant as possible. In her free time she enjoys thrifting and reselling her finds online. Sara’s fur baby is a toothless MInPin Chihuahua name Pepper. You may hear her screaming “CHI-CHI” any time a chihuahua is on the schedule.
